  1.  With floral shears, cut slim evergreen branches into 4-inch segments. Trim off any nubs.

  • 10 medium Russet potatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, diced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Milk or cream, as needed
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add chopped potatoes and cook until fork tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes and place them in a large bowl. Add the butter, cream cheese and garlic.
  3. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher until they reach the desired consistency and texture, adding milk or cream, as needed. Stir in the parsley and season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Pie filling
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract

Whipped cream
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tbsp vanilla instant pudding powder


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9-inch pie pan with butter and set aside.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and spices into a medium bowl and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, gently beat together the sugar, butter, and eggs. Mix in the pumpkin, evaporated milk, and vanilla.
